Reeves of Wem has been part of the Shropshire farming and building community for over four decades. Here’s a little of our story, as featured in the local press.
“Will back in business as he returns to Shropshire”
The Farmer, October 2015
When the magazine caught up with us in 2015, Graham and Pat Reeves were celebrating 35 successful years in the timber business at New House Farm – by then already the largest independent timber merchant in the county.

The article marked son Will Reeves returning to Shropshire to join the family firm, after a decade at sea as a merchant navy engineer and commercial diver – working everywhere from Nigeria and Japan to the coast of Scotland. From modest beginnings in 1980 selling railway sleepers, the business had grown to supply major outlets including Travis Perkins and Jewson with telegraph poles, sleepers, posts, barriers, wood bark and fencing panels manufactured on-site – combining a traditional approach with Will’s modern ideas for the future.
